Aloo Kalonji (Potato Sabzi with Onion Seeds)

INGREDIENTS

Aloo Kalonji (Potato Sabzi with Onion Seeds)

Oil – as required
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon green chilies paste (green chilies blended in water to make a paste)
1/2 kg potatoes (aloo)
1/2 teaspoon onion seeds (kalonji)
Salt – to taste
Red chili powder – to taste
Coriander powder (Dhaniya Powder) – to taste
Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder) – to taste
Curry patta
  
PREPARING METHOD
 
1. Heat oil. Fry ginger paste, garlic paste and green chilies paste. Saute for about 30 seconds till raw flavor is removed.
2. Add salt, red chili powder and onion seeds (kalonji) along with coriander (dhaniya powder) and turmeric powder.
3. Add potatoes along with curry patta and stir-fry. If necessary add a little water to cook the potatoes.
4. Keep on low heat till oil rises to the top and forms thin layer.
5. Take off heat and eat with Puri.
